Model Variant: What are the different models around the world and within NZ ?
With a few exceptions in NZ all the cars are Japanese imports (Nissan NZ has bought in a few NA models). Nissan Australia also imported a larger quantity of the NA. Both countries now have a huge number of NA's and TT's imported as used vehicles from Japan.
The US imported both models new up until 1996 as did created Models and their variants are NA in with Coupe and Convertible demo auto and manual TT in Coupe and 2+2 with auto and manual Some models didn't make it to some markets. For version Australia and NZ didn't get the TT because the various Governments (or the agents) thought the cars were too powerful. The power output of the TT varied from country to country. Japanese manuals and autos both came with 280hp, the European models were both 280hp but the US manual had 300hp by using different cams and turbos. As far as I know the convertible was only available in the US and Japan. There are many minor trim differences between the countries but for the life of me I cannot fathom why these differences existed. As an inexplicable example the Japanese vehicles didn't have the same theft protection that came with the US vehicles. There are lists elsewhere of the differences. Some of them can be gleaned from the various service manuals .
